Treaty Autograph book
The Jackie Clarke Collection recently shot a short film with Anula Productions and local actors to tell the story of the Treaty Autograph book – an item collected by Jackie Clarke.
The autograph book contains over 130 signatures of those involved in the Treaty debates, from the delegates in London on December 6th through to those involved in the Treaty Debates in Dublin and the vote for ratification on January 7th.
The Jackie Clarke Collection team of Sinead Brennan, Anne Marie Forbes, and Edel Healy, along with Andy Smyth and Paula Rouse from Anula Productions created a docudrama film to mark this historic centenary anniversary of the Anglo Irish Treaty using Jackie Clarke’s precious artefact.
Terrific local actors included Shane Loftus, Shane O’Boyle, Paul Brennan, Tommy Cooke, Tommy Forde, Eamon Walkin, Martin O’Donnell, Maggie Igoe, Trisha Browne, Linda Browne, and Linda Hegarty. The Ballina Costume Company were on hand to bring these actors back in time with period dress.
Pictured (below) is Shane O’Boyle playing Michael Collins and Paul Brennan playing Arthur Griffith. Both men are pictured holding a rare copy of the Lavery Portrait Lithographs which Jackie also collected during his lifetime. The film will be available to view on the Jackie Clarke Collection Facebook page from December 6th.
