October

October 2019 Hopefully some of the Decade of Centenary subscribers managed to attend a few of the many commemorative events around Ireland in September.

In October the main events are Leinster based – but worth travelling to attend!

If you would like to inform us of a suitable talk/exhibition/play – anything related to the Decade of Centenaries – please feel free to email centenaries@historyireland.com.

First on the list this month is the RDS Library Lecture Series, curated by John Bowman.

The Kilkenny Autumn Lecture Series continues into October.

Finally the Dublin Festival of History takes place throughout the whole month of October. A select few events related to the Decade of Centenaries are highlighted below – not a comprehensive list, just a sample. Events are all free, many require booking so do visit their website *here* or pick up an information booklet in Dublin City libraries/culture centres/tourist offices.

Some of the events I was going to recommend are already booked out so don’t delay if there is something in particular you would like to attend.
