6 January 2012: The Howth Gun-Running 1914 – Arms for the Rising: Curator's Talk

Asgard

The Curator of the Asgard exhibition at the National Museum of Ireland, Sandra Heise, gave a 30 minute talk on 6 January detailing how, in July 1914, Asgard sailed into Dublin carrying a shipment of guns for the Irish Volunteers, setting the stage for Easter 1916. This was the first event in the lead up to the launch of access to the restored Asgard in August 2012.
