11 October 2016: ‘Talking about 1916: is remembering important?’, Irish Linen Centre and Lisburn Museum, Lisburn

autumn-talks-programme-irish-linen-centre-lisburn-msueum-2016On Tuesday 11 October 2016, as part of its Autumn talks programme, the Irish Linen Centre and Lisburn Museum, Lisburn, hosted a panel discussion on the question of whether remembering historical events is important or not, with particular reference to the Easter Rising of 1916 and the Battle of the Somme.

The talk will be chaired by Eamon Phoenix and will feature Marja Almqvist, Philip Orr, Tom Hartley , Fearghal McGarry and Pat Geary. All contributors delivered their own talk revolving around themes from 1916. Learn more more about the event and contributors here.
