23 January 2013: ‘The Dublin Lockout cartoons of Ernest Kavanagh’, National Library

On Wednesday 23 January 2013 James Curry of NUI Galway gave a lecture about the life and work of Ernest Kavanagh, an important yet little-known political cartoonist who contributed illustrations on a wide range of subjects – the 1913 Lockout, Home Rule, suffrage, the First World War – to James Larkin’s newspaper The Irish Worker prior to his death in Easter Rising of 1916.
