13 July 2013: National War Memorial Garden commemoration

Wreaths are laid each July (the Saturday nearest 11 July) in the National War Memorial Gardens at Islandbridge in memory of Irish losses in the Battle of the Somme and the Great War.

Ceremony

Wreaths were also laid by diplomatic representatives, ex-service organisations and other bodies. The ceremony was arranged by the Royal British Legion with the co-operation and assistance of the State.
