2 March 2014: National Museum of Ireland Curator’s Talk: The Irish Soldier on Film
On Sunday 2 March 2014 the National Museum of Ireland hosted a lecture by curator and film archivist Lar Joye on ‘The Irish Soldier on Film’. The lecture took place in the Museum of Decorative Arts & History, Collins’ Barracks. An important element of the permanent exhibition ‘Soldiers and Chiefs’ is rare film footage capturing Irish military history from the early 20th century, and the lecture was intended to examine and explain this visual material more fully.
