On Sunday 2 March 2014 the National Gallery of Ireland, in association with Poetry Ireland and the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, hosted an illustrated poetry reading entitled ‘War poetry and images of World War One’, with Blake Morrison (Goldsmiths, University of London). Complementing the Study Day on ‘War Artists’ (held on Saturday March 1) this reading focused on works produced during, and in the aftermath of, World War One, a period which reflected an era of radical change in art, culture, and history.
