18 July 2015: Inaugural Sarah Lundberg Summer School: ‘Kathleen Lynn: a truly radical woman’, East Wall, Dublin 3
On Saturday 18 July Dublin’s East Wall History Group, in association with the Alternative Visions Oral History Group, hosted the inaugural Sarah Lundberg Summer School, in memory of the late archivist and historian Sarah Lundberg. The subject of the summer school was the life of the trade unionist and medical professional Kathleen Lynn, who served in the Irish Citizen Army during the Easter Rising and was later instrumental in founding St Ultan’s Children’s Hospital on Charlemont St. The summer school also marked the sixtieth anniversary of Lynn’s death in 1955. It took place in the Sean O’Casey Theatre, St Mary’s Road, East Wall, Dublin 3.
