16 November 2013: National Museum seminar on Irish Citizen Army
On 16 November 2013 the National Museum of Ireland hosted a centenary seminar on the foundation of the Irish Citizen Army, entitled ‘The Irish Citizen Army: Green Bolsheviks or Red Fenians?’. The day-long seminar was addressed by a number of historians — Brian Hanley, Ann Matthews, Rachel Phelan, Lar Joye and Liz Gillis — who discussed the legacies and significance of the Irish Citizen Army, founded in Dublin on 19 November 1913.
