Celebrating Women and 120 years of Local Government

ImageThe ‘pop-up’ museum ‘100 Years of Women in Politics and Public Life’ is currently running at Donegal County Museum until 30 June, 2019.
In honour of this, The National Women’s Council of Ireland is hosting an event at the County Museum in Letterkenny –
‘Celebrating Women and 120 years of Local Government’
on Thursday 13th June 11am-2pm
Marian Harkin (Former MEP) will chair the event
Confirmed speakers include:
•Orla O’Connor (Director of NWCI)
•Sinead McCoole (Curator of the Pop Up Women’s Museum, Commemorations Unit, Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht)
•Dr Angela Byrne (Historian specialising in migration and women’s history, Ulster University)
There will be a panel of newly elected female councillors and women activists discussing what comes next for women in public life.
