6 December 2016: Launch of ‘Frongoch and 1916: Recreating a lost landscape’, National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, Dublin 7

img_20161129_180824On Tuesday 6 December 2016 the National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Arts and History, Collins Barracks, Dublin 7, hosted the launch of a new online project entitled Frongoch and 1916: Recreating a lost landscape. This is a collaboration between the Digital Repository of Ireland, the National Museum of Ireland, the National Library of Ireland, National Museum Wales and National Library Wales. Frongoch and 1916: Recreating a lost landscape will feature a series of new curated exhibitions of digital cultural heritage objects from Irish and Welsh sources, as well as expert commentary, relating to the experiences of Irish detainees held after the Easter Rising at Frongoch in Wales until December 1916. The project was launched by Catriona Crowe.
