On Sunday 27 March 2016 the National Gallery of Ireland  hosted a lecture entitled ‘Ireland’s War and the Easter Rising in a European context’, by Jérôme aan de Wiel (UCC). This formed part of a free lecture series throughout the month of March looking at the theme of war and revolution in art, in association with the current exhibition, James Stephens, the National Gallery of Ireland, and the 1916 Rising.
