On Wednesday 26 October 2016 the National Library of Ireland hosted the latest in a series of public interviews considering the relevance of the 1916 proclamation: is it seen now as an inspirational text or as a historical document?
A diverse and distinguished list of speakers will give their individual responses, in an interview series that aims to engage, inspire and provoke discussion. Each interview is moderated by historian and broadcaster Dr John Bowman, whose latest book is Ireland, the autobiography. The second interviewee, on 26 October, was Roddy Doyle.
