22 March 2016: ‘The Arras Belfry (1916), 1917’, National Gallery of Ireland, Dublin 2.
On Tuesday 22 March 22 2016 the National Gallery of Ireland, Merrion Square, Dublin 2, hosted a lecture by Andrew Moore entitled ‘WW1: The Arras Belfry (1916), 1917’. The eponymous painting by the French artist and WW1 veteran Fernand Sabbaté forms part of the gallery’s collection.
This formed part of a free lecture series throughout the month of March looking at the theme of war and revolution in art, in association with the current exhibition, James Stephens, the National Gallery of Ireland, and the 1916 Rising.
