On Wednesday 21 September 2016 the National Library of Ireland hosted the first in a new series of public interviews considering the relevance of the 1916 proclamation: is it seen now as an inspirational text or as a historical document?
A diverse and distinguished list of speakers will give their individual responses, in an interview series that aims to engage, inspire and provoke discussion. Each interview will be moderated by historian and broadcaster Dr John Bowman, whose latest book is Ireland, the autobiography. The first interviewee wss Archbishop Diarmaid Martin.
The interview took place in the National Library of Ireland, Kildare St, Dublin 2, at 7pm.
