On Wednesday 20 April 2017 President Michael D. Higgins launched the exhibition Portrait of a century at the National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Arts and History, Collins Barracks, Dublin 7. This photographic exhibition by Dublin-born photographer Kim Haughton was intended to encapsulate modern Ireland in the century after the Easter Rising via portraits of 100 individuals, each born in a different year and starting with the late T.K. Whitaker, who was born in 1916. The exhibition accompanies a book of the same name from Lilliput Press.
