18 November 2015: ‘The decade of commemorations: showcasing resources and new pathways for research’, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2
On 18 November Trinity College Dublin hosted a workshop entitled ‘The decade of commemorations: showcasing resources and new pathways for research’ This was part of the Library of Trinity College Dublin’s ‘The library of the future; the future of the library programme of activities for 2015-16.
The lunchtime event introduced a series of innovative initiatives responding to the ‘Decade of Commemoration’, and showcased the library’s unique and distinct collections. These initiatives include the Great War Revisited online exhibition in partnership with Google Cultural Institute; the Changed Utterly 1916 blog project; and the forthcoming ‘Fit as fiddles and as hard as nails’ war-diaries resource. The projects raise awareness of the unrealised research potential of the Library collections and seek to activate new areas of scholarship.
The event took place at 1pm on Wednesday 18 November 2015 in the Neill Lecture Theatre in the TCD Long Room Hub.
