16 April 2015: Co. Wexford launch of ‘Letters of 1916’ project, Enniscorthy Library, Co, Wexford
On Thursday 16 April the Wexford launch of the Letters of 1916 project took place in Enniscorthy Library from 6-9pm. The project was originally set up to create a crowd-sourced archive of personal letters and testimonies relating to the period before and after the Easter Rising, from 1 November 1915 to 31 October 1916. To date, it has collected over 1,800 letters in order to create an online open-access archive of the year around the Easter Rising. The Enniscorthy launch was the first in a series of events around the country that are aimed at highlighting the project at local level. The launch consisted of a number of presentations and demonstrations, followed by a reception. Click here for full details.
