15 September 2015: Lecture on ‘The archaeology of a decade of war: The geography of the War of Independence and Civil War in Dublin
On Thursday 15 September 2016 the National Museum of Ireland, Kildare St, Dublin 2, presented a lecture in its series The archaeology of a decade of war, entitled ‘The geography of the War of Independence and Civil War in Dublin, by Muiris de Buitléír MSc. FRGS. This was hosted as part of the National Museum of Ireland’s 1916 public engagement programme. This lecture looked at buildings associated with the actions of the period, with a particular look at traces of the events that still remain. It examined how the structure of the city may have influences the military activities and recall some of the events associated with particular places
