15 March 2016: ‘The 1916 proclamation in its national and international context’, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin 2

1916-ProclamationOn Tuesday 15 March, to mark ‘Proclamation day’, Trinity College Dublin’s Long Room Hub hosted a symposium entitled ‘The 1916 proclamation in its national and international context’, which will examine the iconic 1916 proclamation. Members of TCD’s Department of History examined the various rebellions referred to in the proclamation, and how the proclamation can be understood in relation to other, similar declarations of independence, such as those promulgated in the American and French revolution.

The symposium took place in the TCD Long Room Hub.  The full programme and booking details can be found here.
