14 November 2016: ‘The 1916 centenaries: an opportune time for reflection’, Belfast City Hall, Belfast
On Monday 14 November 2016 Hedge the Fellowship of the Messines Association hosted a debate in Belfast City Hall on ‘The 1916 centenaries: an opportune time for reflection?’. This consisted of a discussion of the Somme and the Great War from a variety of perspectives, and was an opportunity for thoughtful reflection, wide-ranging discussion in a cross-community setting. Speakers included Dr. Margaret Ward, Philip Orr, journalist and author Padraig Yeates, Tom Hartley and Joe Bowers.
