14-15 December 2018: ‘”Why not a woman?” Celebrating women in public and private life in Ireland’, Dublin Castle, Dublin 2
On Friday 14 and Saturday 15 December 2018 the Women’s History Association of Ireland’s (WHAI) 2018 annual conference, entitled“‘Why not a woman?’ Celebrating women in public and private life in Ireland, 1918-2018”, took place in Dublin Castle, Dublin 2. This conference marks the centenary of the achievement of limited suffrage for women, and is supported by the Department of Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht. It began with the launch of the pop-up centenary exhibition Women in politics and public Life 1918-2018, which was launched by the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht, Josepha Madigan TD.
