On Friday 12 and Saturday 13 February the Military History Society of Ireland held its annual conference, entitled ‘From Sackville St to the Somme: Irishmen and women at war in 1916’, at the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks, Dublin 7.

Speakers included Charles Townshend, Nicholas Perry, Stephen Sandford, Martin Staunton, Emmanuel Destenay, Fionnuala Walsh, Mark Phelan, Michael Kennedy, Ann Matthews, Gerry White, Lar Joye, and Neil Richardson.
