10 November 2018: ‘The end of the Great War and Ireland in 1918’, Naas, Co. Kildare
On Saturday 10 November 2018 the Kildare Archaeological Society’s annual seminar took place in the Killashee House Hotel, Naas. The subject is ‘The end of the Great War and Ireland in 1918’. The armistice that ended the war came into effect on 11 November 1918, and the seminar explored a wide range of issues relating to the impact and course of the war in relation to political and social developments in Ireland during decisive year of 1918.
The seminar took place in the Killashee House Hotel, Naas, Co, Kildare, from 9.30am to 4pm. Speakers will include Catriona Crowe, Terence Dooley (Maynooth), James Durney (Kildare Libraries), Diarmaid Ferriter (UCD), Joe Mulligan (Defence Forces), and Fionnuala Walsh (UCD).
