On Saturday 1 November the 2014 annual conference of the Irish Labour History Society took place in the ILHS premises in Beggars Bush, Dublin 4. The title of the conference was ‘We serve neither king nor kaiser”, which tooks as its theme Ireland during the period of the First World War, 1914-18. Speakers included Pádraig Yeates, Theresa Moriarty, John Cunningham, John Horne, Brendan Byrne, James Curry, Catriona Crowe, Brian Hanley, Ann Matthews and Peter Rigney.
